If you want to prove your loyalty and fanship to the tech giant, Apple, then you need to get your hands on a unique set of Apple trainers — created exclusively for its employees in the 1990s, and were never sold to the public — being sold for $50,000 (£38,969) at Sotheby’s auction house.

However, the pair of shoes were given away only once at a conference, making them extremely rare and highly sought after.

The pair of shoes feature a predominately white leather upper, “a standout detail” is the old rainbow Apple logo on both the tongue and next to the laces and will be “highly coveted”, said Sotheby’s.

The Omega x Apple sneakers are “new in the box” and claimed to be extremely rare and valuable on the resale market according to the retailer.

However, the description on the box reveals that they may have some imperfections, such as yellowing around the midsoles.

The pair features an air cushioning window in the heel and are available in US, European, or UK sizes. The box includes an alternative pair of red laces. Apple memorabilia has increased in value, making many retro gadget collector’s items sell at high prices.

Additionally, Pippin, a traditional video game console, was overpriced, while Ping, a social network, and Newton MessagePad were flops but a successful auction of a first-edition 4GB iPhone sold for over $190,000 in the US, the BBC reported.

Apple, known for its gadgets and innovations, occasionally offers clothing and accessories for tech enthusiasts and released the Apple collection including T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, and hats featuring the rainbow logo and Macintosh computer imagery.

Apple’s initial plan to promote the brand and create a sense of community was unfortunately discontinued in 2015. However, in the same year, Apple partnered with luxury fashion brand Hermès to create watch straps, and in 2020, a black history strap.

Apple Park jackets were designed for employees at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
